They assigns an IP address to a domain or subdomain name in which no two A records refer to the same IP address.

Q1. When and where is A record used ?

when you have subdomains residing on various systems.

Q2. Can you give me two real examples of A record

 

whatsnew.ng A 10.199.212.2

Where A indicates the Address record.

The above example indicate that the IP Address for the domain whatsnew.ng is 10.199.212.2

 

Q3. What else can you say about A record ?

Nothing else.

 

Q4. What is the different between A record and DNS.

 

DNS are used to translate or map word-based addresses of systems to the corresponding numerical IP
